Here is a little known fact about me, but I didn’t grow up in Maine. I moved here in 2004 when I was in college, and after spending my first year living only 20 minutes from some pretty amazing beaches, I decided never to leave, despite that extremely cold and snowy winter. Summertime is my favorite season and I usually try to make as many days “beach days” as I can possibly can.

This is a strange time we are all living in, but babies are still being born, and parents are still falling in love with the little hearts that beat outside their bodies.

Except they weren't called that back in 2010, or at least I hadn't heard that term being used.

I got to meet sweet Sylvie at 36 hours young, and let me tell you, it was love at first squawk.
